From John Calvin’s perspective, the effect of original sin is that this “fallen” nature extends to every part of our being; that is our thinking, our emotions and our will. John Calvin feels that without the power of the Holy Spirit, man is blind and deaf to the message of the gospel and a man without a knowledge of God can never come to this knowledge without God making him alive through Christ.
