I find an interesting premise based on a verse in Isaiah chapter 40, verse 31:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Note the perspective which Jesus gives us in the gospel of John, chapter 4, verses 23 + 24:
“… now is when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking those who worship Him. God is a spirit and it is necessary for those who worship Him to worship in spirit and truth.”
The roots of the word worship can be found:
a.       In the Hebrew verb:shusha which means to “give reverence” or “bow down”

b.      In the Greek verb proskuneo which means to “give reverence” or “bow down”

God does not need us to offer reverence to Him, the process of worship is for us; it permits our limited intellect, perceptions and senses to come to a better comprehension of God.
Note some verses which reference this transformation:
Jeremiah, chapter 32, verses 37 – 41: “… I will bring them back … they shall be my people … and … I shall be their God … I will give them … one heart … one way … so … they shall revere Me forever … I shall rejoice over them to do them good … ”
Isaiah, chapter 35, verses 8 + 9: “… A highway shall be there … a way … it shall be called the way of holiness … the redeemed shall walk there …”
Ezekiel, chapter 36, verses 26 – 29 (also Ezekiel 11: 19-21): “… I will give you a new heart and I will put a new Spirit within you … and … I will take away the stony heart from your flesh … and … I will give you a heart of flesh … I will put my Spirit within you … and … I will deliver you from your uncleanness.”
Acts, chapter 4, verses 32 + 33: “… and multitudes of believers were of one heart and mind … and … great favor was on them all.”
Worship essentially gets us beyond the limitations of our mind. God made our minds the way they are however they, in and of their own ability with our five senses, do not permit our perception of spiritual attributes in and around us.
