1 Kings 17, vs 8 - 16

… vs 8 … the Word of the LORD came to Elijah … go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there ... I have directed a widow there to supply you with food … vs 10 … so … Elijah went to Zarephath and when he came to the town gate a widow was there gathering sticks ... Elijah called to her and asked … would you please bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink … vs 11 … and as she was going to get it … Elijah again called out and said … also please bring me a piece of bread … vs 12 … the woman replied … as surely as the LORD ( YHVH ) your God lives I don’t have any bread only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug for right now I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son so that we may eat it and die … vs 13 … Elijah said to her … don’t be afraid rather go home and do as you have said but first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me then make something for yourself and your son … vs 14 … for this is what the LORD ( YHVH ) the God of Israel says … the jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD ( YHVH ) sends rain on the land … vs 15 … the woman went away and did as Elijah had told her … and so … there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family … vs 16 … for … the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry according to Word of the LORD ( YHVH ) spoken by Elijah …

17:8 ויהי דבר-יהוה אליו לאמר

17:9 קום לך צרפתה אשר לצידון וישבת שם הנה צויתי שם אשה אלמנה לכלכלך

17:10 ויקם וילך צרפתה ויבא אל-פתח העיר והנה-שם אשה אלמנה מקששת עצים ויקרא אליה ויאמר קחי-נא לי מעט-מים בכלי ואשתה

17:11 ותלך לקחת ויקרא אליה ויאמר לקחי-נא לי פת-לחם בידך

17:12 ותאמר חי-יהוה אלהיך אם-יש-לי מעוג כי אם-מלא כף-קמח בכד ומעט-שמן בצפחת והנני מקששת שנים עצים ובאתי ועשיתיהו לי ולבני ואכלנהו ומתנו

17:13 ויאמר אליה אליהו אל-תיראי באי עשי כדברך אך עשי-לי משם עגה קטנה בראשנה והוצאת לי ולך ולבנך תעשי באחרנה

17:14 כי כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל כד הקמח לא תכלה וצפחת השמן לא תחסר עד יום תתן-יהוה גשם על-פני האדמה

17:15 ותלך ותעשה כדבר אליהו ותאכל הוא-והיא וביתה ימים

17:16 כד הקמח לא כלתה וצפחת השמן לא חסר כדבר יהוה אשר דבר ביד אליהו
