… so … grace is not a gratuity nor is it a payment. The payment for our salvation and sanctification which enables us to move away from our fallen nature and sin was the one time gift of God in His life, death and resurrection as Jesus Christ … grace is the outcome of that payment … freely extended to us by God … we become enabled to receive that grace though our faith in Jesus Christ … grace is another bible study all together however it is interesting that … like a gratuity … grace is for our personal use and can be … accepted … rejected … ignored … or … a Christian can be in the Kingdom of Heaven (Kingdom of God) and be completely unaware of many aspects of grace that are available for us to accept and receive … so … as we mature in our relationship with God … the Fruit of the Spirit will increase in our lives … this is a useful measure … that is a metric … provided for our practical use … by God … we find that as a person matures in her/his relationship with God … so also the Fruit of the Spirit will increase … remember that “Fruit” is singular – this is a single measure with nine separate attributes which we can observe in ourselves and others …

… so … the Gifts of the Spirit are a gratuity … from God … they are a demonstration of the spiritual attribute DYNAMIS in the Kingdom of Heaven ( Kingdom of God ) …  that is why they are termed in scripture  …  “a manifestation of the Holy Spirit” … also … note that they are given for the common good … they include … message of wisdom, message of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, miraculous powers, prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, speaking in tongues and the interpretation of tongues … this scripture notes that these gifts are the work of the Holy Spirit who gives them … to each one of us … as … the Spirit of  God ( the Holy Spirit ) determines … essentially … these gifts are a gratuity which can be accepted and received by each of us in the Kingdom of Heaven ( Kingdom of God ) …
