1 Thessalonians chapter 5, vs  9 - 11 

… God did not appoint us to suffer wrath … but …  to receive salvation … through our Lord, Jesus Christ … He died for us … so that … whether awake or asleep … we will live together with Him … therefore … encourage one another … 

  יַעַן אֲשֶׁר לא־יְעָדָנוּ הָאֱלהִים לְחָרוֹן כִּי לָרֶשֶׁת אֶת־הַיְשׁוּעָה עַל־יְדֵי אֲדנֵינוּ יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ… vs 9

… so … the wrath of God … that is … the hour of trial … is directed at evil/sin and those individuals of humankind who have embraced wickedness … it is not a punishment or revenge … rather … a process for the preparation of evil/sin to enter the second death and thus be … no more … forever … similar to mixing cement or baking a cake there is a need for an amalgam …
