I like your analysis of chapter 3, repeating for understanding, essentially there is a sense, or awareness, of the Deity which is part of our being; perhaps this prevents mankind from pretending ignorance of God’s presence and thus we condemn ourselves, by our own free will, if we do not worship Him and/or direct our lives according to His will. Perhaps the neglect of a person’s awareness of God is a neglect of their own being; thus Calvin’s Plato quote from Phoed: “the chief good of our soul consists in our resemblance to God”.
