The Guidance and Teaching of the Scripture Necessary to Lead to the Knowledge of God the Creator.
God presents his light to us directly, but we, many times, don't recognize it.
Therefore, the scripture, collecting in our minds the otherwise confused notions of Deity, dispels the darkness, and gives us a clear view of the true God.
Scripture teaches us that God, who created the world, may be certainly distinguished from the whole multitude of fictitious deities.
The scripture as the word of God is eternal truth.
The human mind is unable through its imbecility to attain any knowledge of God without the assistance of his sacred word. All mankind, except the Jews, as they sought God without the word, must necessarily have been wandering in vanity and error.
To me, this chapter describes the foreshadowing of Christ, since he is the Word.
Most of humanity wandered in vanity and error until the Word was made flesh in our Lord and Master, Jesus.
