Summary of Book 2 - Chapter 6

Redemption for Lost Man to Be Sought in Christ.

This chapter basically states that we can ONLY obtain redemption from our Heavenly Father through his Son, Christ Jesus. Jesus is THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. Jesus is the only doorway to Heaven or the Kingdom of God available to us. Jesus originally came for the salvation of the Jews, but at the cross, the doorway was opened wide for all the rest of us to become children of God. Christ Jesus is the image of the invisible God. He is a step-down and step-up transformer (in the language of electronics) between us and God the Father. We know what God the Father is like by looking at Jesus's words and actions and by his presence through the Holy Spirit. He is our mediator. Through Jesus we are reconciled to God the Father. Jesus is the Ocean of Mercy into which we cast our sins and they are gone. The church father, Irenaeus, stated: "the Father, who is infinite in himself, becomes finite in the Son; because he has accommodated himself to our capacity, that he may not overwhelm our minds with the infinity of his glory." And the beloved disciple, John, stated: "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father."
