2 Thessalonians chapter 2, vs 3
… that day will not come until the … falling away … occurs … and … the man of lawlessness is revealed …
… the Greek word often translated “falling away” and in some English Holy Bible translations as “rebellion” is actually the Greek word referenced by Strong #646 which has the literal translation of “removal” or “separation” … the root of Strong #646 is Strong #868 which is the Greek word APOSTASION which also has the literal meaning … “separation” … providing both the context and the connotation of … “completion with or by separation” … so … in our analysis … we view this verse as a prophetic statement of the rapture of those made righteous by Jesus Christ … however … we do not disagree with and we appreciate those analyses who view this verse as a statement of the markedly increasing apostasy of individuals in the Christian church just prior to the onset of the seven year Tribulation period because both events … that is the rapture of those who are righteous in their relationship with God through Jesus Christ … and also … the increasing apostasy in the church … occur before that onset of God’s wrath during the Tribulation …
