God speaking to Abraham ( Abram )

… the word of the Lord came to Abram … do not be afraid … I am your shield … your very great reward … Abram believed the Lord … and … God credited it to him as righteousness … the Lord God Almighty … said to Abram … I AM … the Lord … I AM … He who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it … as the sun was setting … Abram fell into a deep sleep … then the Lord said to him … know that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own … and … there … they will be enslaved and mistreated … there … they will serve as slaves … and … afterward … they will come out with great possessions … you will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age … in the fourth generation … your descendants will come back here … on that day … the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said … to your descendants … I give this land … from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river … the Euphrates … the land of the … Kenites … Kenizzites … Kadmonites … Hittites … Perizzites … Rephaites … Amorites … Canaanites … Girgashites … and … Jebusites … 

 

Genesis chapter 21, vs 11 - 13

God speaking to Abraham ( Abram )

… do not be so distressed about the boy … Ishmael … and … your slave woman … Hagar … listen to what Sarah tells you … because … it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned … and … I will also make Ishmael … the son of the slave … into a nation …  because … he is your offspring …

Genesis chapter 15, vs 18

… on that day … the LORD ( YHVH ) made a covenant with Abram … saying … to your descendants I give this land from the river of Egypt to the river Euphrates …
